Creating Email Template in Outlook 2003
Email templates are useful when you have to send same email on daily basis but with minor changes. For instance you have an email and you need to send it out every day that contains the same information, or a form that requires users to dictate answers to the same questions. In such a situation you can create an email template in Outlook, which will help you in saving your time that would otherwise be wasted in composing the same email again and again.
Creating templates in Outlook 2003 is very much simple. It is to be noted here that if you have Word set as your email editor, then the template mode will not be available. So first thing you have to do is turn off the Word option. Now perform the following steps.
Step1: Open Outlook Options by choosing Tools Options from the menu.
Step2: Choose the Mail Format tab, and make sure to uncheck the boxes to use Word.
Step3: Now to create your template. Just open a new mail message, choose the person(s) to send it to, a subject line, and a message body. Now you should be able to choose File Save As from the menu.
Step4: Choose Outlook Template .OFT as the file type, and pick a folder and file name to save the template as.
Now you are done with creation of email template in Outlook. When you go to the location where you saved your template you will find an Outlook Template icon with .OFT file extension. Just double-click the icon, hit send and you are done!
You can also open the template by going through File New Choose Form User Templates option as well.
